The CAC Group (holdings company: CAC Holdings Corporation; Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Akihiko Sako), which provides IT and healthcare services in Japan and abroad, has now made “Boccia Measure(*1)” an original Android app for automatically measuring the distance between boccia balls, available for free on Google Play.

The CAC Group is a gold partner of the Japan Boccia Association and has been engaged in activities to popularize and support boccia, which is a sport for people with disabilities, since 2016. The group company CAC Corporation (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Ryota Nishimori) developed Boccia Measure as a way to popularize the game of boccia and has been conducting repeated evaluations. Now, in the hope of helping as many as possible enjoy boccia wherever you go, we are making the app available for free on Google Play.

Boccia Measure is an Android app that helps determining who the winner is by displaying images and data after measuring the distances between the jack ball, which is the boccia target ball, and the color balls. If you use your device’s camera function to take a photo from right above the jack ball, the app can automatically measure its distance to nearby balls.

The Group will continue to engage in a variety of activities to help popularize boccia so that as many as possible can come to enjoy the game.

CAC Holdings Corporation (head office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Akihiko Sako; hereinafter “CAC Holdings”) is pleased to announce that it has concluded a basic agreement on an inbound business partnership with Suzhou Tongcheng Zhongchuang Incubator Service Co., Ltd. (head office: Suzhou City, China; General manager: Jacky Lou; hereinafter “Tongcheng Zhongchuang”), a Chinese venture capital firm. Based on this partnership, CAC Holdings will promote and expand the CAC Group’s inbound businesses by finding promising inbound-related start-ups from Tongcheng Zhongchuang’s networks, providing funds to those start-ups and partnering with them.

Tongcheng Zhongchuang is a venture capital firm whose parent company is Tongcheng Holdings Co. Ltd. (head office: Suzhou City, China; CEO: Wu Zhi Xiang; hereinafter “Tongcheng Holdings”), which manages the third largest Chinese online travel agency (TONGCHENG LVYOU (http://www.ly.com/)). Tongcheng Zhongchuang utilizes the management know-how and human networks of Tongcheng Holdings and focuses on corporate development as well as the provision of funds.

CAC Holdings will develop services for Chinese visitors in Japan with inbound-related start-ups that the company funds and partners with through the partnership agreement as part of the CAC Group’s inbound businesses. In addition, CAC Holdings will also provide IT support, utilizing the CAC Group’s technological capability, and support the growth of start-ups together with Tongcheng Zhongchuang.

In its mid-term management strategy that started this year, the Group regards capturing the rapidly expanding inbound business as one of its key initiatives, and is taking steps to pursue this. This latest partnership followed the Group’s funding of a company that provides services for reservations and billing to restaurants for foreign visitors in Japan, which was announced in March. The Group will also engage in medical tourism and regional revitalization while expanding its new inbound business.

As a Gold Partner of the Japan Boccia Association since 2016, the CAC Group is committed to the popularization and support of Boccia. CAC Corporation, a member company of the Group, has employed Boccia player Shun Sato as part of these activities.

Shun Sato is a top athlete who is registered as a certified athlete for the Japan Boccia Association, and his further achievements in the future are expected. We would like to strongly promote the popularization and support of Boccia by supporting his activities as a player while enhancing the sense of unity of the Group by cheering him on as a colleague who works with us in the Group.

CAC Holdings Corporation (Head office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Akihiko Sako) hereby announces that, through the Boccia Equipment Donation Project, for which a call for applications was made in October 2017, donations of Boccia tools have been made to 14 non-profit organizations or corporations that were either wanting to introduce Boccia as a recreation or sport, or that support disabled people.

As a Gold Partner of the Japan Boccia Association since 2016, the company is committed to the popularization and support of the sport of Boccia for people with disabilities. This project, part of the company’s activity to popularize Boccia, aims to get more people to experience the enjoyment of playing Boccia. The company has donated Boccia equipment to those organizations that want to introduce Boccia but for whom the cost of the equipment would prove to be an obstacle.

The company donated Boccia tools (balls and match equipment) to all 14 organizations that applied. The organizations were wide-ranging and, in addition to local Boccia clubs, included sports associations for disabled people, nursing homes, and the Girl Scouts. Boccia equipment was sent to people of all ages and diverse settings. CAC group employees visited three of the organizations and handed out Boccia equipment, held a Boccia workshop, and enjoyed a game of Boccia together.

The CAC Holdings Group plans to continue the Boccia Equipment Donation Project so that Boccia can be experienced by as many people as possible.
